Mini - Skincare Haul.

Hiyie! :) We went to the mall today for Chuchay's monthly grooming session. [ I will share that with you later. ] So, we roam around the mall while waiting. And I finally gave in, and bought the things I have been meaning to get.

If you guys follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you guys already know that I had/ still have craaazy breakouts from I am not sure where. It isn't the normal breakouts that I am having every "time" of the month. It is sooooo bad! I thought it will be fine after a few days. But NO! I am desperate! I needed something to get these bad boys out of my face. So, here is a mini haul for you all. :)

I am so proud of myself. I wasn't tempted to buy any beauty stuffs or whatever. And I think I won't even after my month long ban. :) I think I still have the stuffs I need, and I think I need to invest on taking care of my skin first before anything else.
So, back to the main topic. :) Here are the things I bought today.

I bought these 3 from Healthy Options, Mall of Asia.
1. ALBA Botanica Acnedote Deep Pore Wash
Php 359. 00
2. ALBA Botanica Acnedote Deep Clean Astringent
Php 359.00
3. ALBA Botanica Acnedote Invisible Treatment Gel
Php 359.00

I really hope these can help me solve my acne problems. I really am desperate now! I need these guys to work!

I also bought this baby from Watsons for my face. It is the...
1. Aqua Massage Facial Cellulose Sponge
Php 52.75

That's it! The other things I bought are for my Chuchay. hehe
Makeup wise or anything. NOTHING. I am super happy! It wasn't hard though. I just realized that I still have enough makeup to use. So, I will still do this. Save up for the things I really want to buy.
I might not be able to post any hauls or whatever in the following weeks. But it will all be worth it! I know that, for sure! :)

Have you guys ever tried any of the products mentioned? Did it work?!
How's your experience with it?

Makeup Chemicals : PARABEN

Hi ya'all! How was every one's weekend?! I hope you guys had a blast! :) Anyways, in a few days we'll say bye bye to August already, and that is so surreal! I cannot believe how FAST time flies.

Anyway, tonight I will be starting this "little" series about harmful chemicals that are contained in our makeups. I used to NOT care about those chemicals. But as you grow older [ and wiser...] , you will realize how important it is to take care of yourself, of your skin. I started looking for skincare products made with "natural" or safer ingredients a few months back. But it isn't that easy to find those kind of stuffs when it comes to makeup. Most beauty products really have those harmful chemicals.

What are those harmful chemicals?! There are tons of them! Tons of chemicals that CAN cause cancer, or allergies and the likes. So, I will start by introducing to you guys one of THE most common of them all, PARABENS.

credits to owner. [ I DO NOT OWN  THE PHOTO ]
" (methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, butyl-, isobutyl-) Parabens, which have weak estrogenic effects, are common preservatives that appear in a wide array of toiletries. A study found that butyl paraben damaged sperm formation in the testes of mice, and a relative, sodium methylparaben, is banned in cosmetics by the E.U. Parabens break down in the body into phydroxybenzoic acid, which has estrogenic activity in human breast-cancer cell cultures."

So, now we all know that PARABENS are used by a lot of cosmetic companies as a preservative to protects their products from contamination.
It was also found in breast cancer tumors, BUT it isn't directly connected to cancer. I have read all over that they still don't know it has an effect on cancer growth.
Parabens can also mimic certain hormones in our body and disrupt/fracture functions in some of our systems, like the endocrine system.

HARMFUL EFFECTS
..might cause allergies.
...might decrease sperm levels and might affect puberty.
... MIGHT cause breast cancer.

I know it is hard to find makeup products or skincare or any products that doesn't contain paraben. If you guys always read the ingredients list, I think 8 out of 10, you will most likely see paraben on the list.

I will try to look for products that does not contain any paraben or whatsoever.
TAKE NOTE. Do not rely on products that says, NATURAL or ORAGANIC or MINERAL. Because that does not mean it is PARABEN FREE.

That's it for today! I hope this was helpful.
If you have any questions or suggestions on things I should try. Comment down below! :)
And stay tuned for my birthday month posts and giveaways! WOOT!

Random: Our Wensha Spa Experience.

Hi! I have been a bit busy these past few days. But today, I was busy...relaxing! :) We made the best out of this holiday and chose to relax and pamper ourselves a bit.

I have been meaning to spend a whole day just relaxing for a long time now. I have been wanting to go to a SPA session but the budget won't allow me. But today my dad gave me and my mom some extra budget to relax. :) So, we went to one of the most famous spa here in the Metro. The Wensha Spa Center.

" Wensha Spa is the most large spa company in Philippines, the best services of leisure places. Let you and your family every day can very easily leisure service center. "
--- Wensha Spa

We went to their Pasay Branch located at the old Boom na Boom lot, across World Trade Center
We arrived their at 10:30 am and went out at 4 pm.
Paid Php 780.00 for a whole body massage inclusive of unlimited use of SAUNA, JACUZZI and EAT ALL YOU CAN BUFFET and SHABU SHABU. You can stay there for a max. of 8 hours. They are open 24/7.

I will share with you how it went and the review after. :)

Once you enter the spa center, there's a reception area in front.
You have to pay the bill before you can enter. At the left side area, there's the BOYS section. And at the right side is the area for the GIRLS.

They will give you this bracelet that will serve as your key to the locker assigned to you.

And then before you enter, you will need to surrender your shoes and change to a pair of slippers like this one. I chose yellow, for obvious reasons. :D

Then once you enter the locker room, there's a girl who will hand you a robe with a pair of shorts and a towel.
[ PICTURE TAKING IS NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM, JACUZZI, SAUNA and MASSAGE AREA.  ]

If you are not open minded, you might be surprise on what you will see.
You can only change or take your clothes off, inside the locker room. If you are going to use the sauna and jacuzzi, you will have to remove EVERYTHING. As in ALL OUT!!
OH yeah! You heard it right! hehe.

You're not allowed to the robe to the jacuzzi/sauna area. You can wear a towel but not in the jacuzzi. You have to be totally naked!

When we got there, there's like 2 or 3 other girls in the jacuzzi. So, we just went ahead and go in while it isn't crowded yet.  Before that we took a quick shower. It is also located at the jacuzzi area. Don't worry! There are doors, GLASS doors. :D

After that we tried out the sauna. I personally can't stay inside super long because it is quite hard to breathe inside. And it is really hot!

Then, we changed into our robes and tried out the buffet.

They also offer Shabu- shabu.

And then we stayed there for a bit after we ate. Then we went to the massage area.
[ Again, pictures are not allowed. ]

After an hour of massage, we rested for about 1 and half hour before we went to take a shower and eat again. :) We ate again before we check out. So, we checked out at like 4 pm.

BUFFET AND SHABU SHABU.
I think I will give it a 3 over 5. When we ate at like 11: 30, the first time we ate. I was really disappointed. The food doesn't taste good. And it looks like it is only a left over from the other night. But the second time, there are better dishes than the first batch. You can't expect too much from it, I guess. There are 7-8 dishes available. Unlimited Ice Cream and Juice. Unlimited Shabu Shabu also. The taste, some tastes BLEGH but some are okay. But it is very clean in the dining area, and it is very cozy. There's also a smoking area so it's good for us, non-smokers.

SAUNA/JACUZZI/SHOWER/LOCKER ROOM
These places can be a bit crowded. But it is clean, in fairness. The sauna is super hot. The Jacuzzi is hot enough and there's a body wash and shampoo available in all cubicles. I give it 4 over 5 cause I think they can still improve it there. The locker room especially can be very crowded, so maybe they should designate a place where people can actually change clothes. All in all, it is good!

MASSAGE
This is my second time to get a massage. I cannot say it's the best, but it's good! The therapists are friendly. They will ask you on how you like it and all those stuffs. I am awake the whole time but I was so relaxed. It was good! It's a 4 over 5 for me. After the massage, you kinda is obliged to give a tip. They will hand a paper and ask you to sign it and put how much tip you will give once you check out.

Overall, I love it! For the price it is amazing! Php 780.00 [ roughly $20 ]  for all those, worth it!  I think it is cheap but the service is good. We will definitely go back!

Will I Recommend?!
YES! DEFINITELY! If you want a time to relax and all those, you should definitely check Wensha out. It is a bit awkward at first, but I think you'll get used to it. We asked the therapists and they said, people of all ages go there. 3-5 years old are the youngest, and the elderly can also go there. :)

For more information, just check WENSHA SPA on Facebook.

So, that's it for now. I will try to still relax and make the most out of this holiday. :)
How was your long weekend?! Have you ever been to Wensha?! HOW WAS IT?!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Follower of the Month! *UPDATED*

Hey Guys! I just want to make some changes on the Follower of the Month thing. I had to make some changes to make it fair to everyone. Last week, a reader contacted me to kind of suggest that I should say the prize every start of the month because it seems unfair. Sorry, if that was how it looked. But believe me, I didn't mean that. I do understand though. I think it really seems unfair so I changed some rules and yeah, I will show you guys the gift for next month.

Instead of starting this month, I will just make it August - September Follower of the Month.

Random : Mini Makeover.

Hi! Happy Saturday! I am still a little bit sick. But I just want to share with you guys a mini makeover I did to my sister. :)

She's my younger sister and she is currently a Grade 7 student.
She don't CANNOT use any makeup yet. So, every time I am bored, I play with her. :D

For the eyes.
I used my NYX JEP in Milk as a base and then my Fashion 21 Color Set.
I line her eyes with my Nichido Kohl Pencil in Onyx. and used the mascara I got from Taiwan.

For the eye brows.
She still has this "young virgin" brows. So, I just created a imaginary shape for it using my In2it Eyebrow Color. And again, my NYX JEP in Milk for a little bit of highlight on her brow bone area.

No mascara yet.
Her lashes is naturally thick and long, better than mine. BOO!

I only used a gold color and some browns. I went for the neutral look cause I don't want to overwhelm her or whatever. She said she wanted a "NUDE" look. :)

For the Face.
I used the 4U2 BB Cream and set it with the 4U2 BB Powder
I used Avon True Color blush in Rose Lustre for the cheeks. And contoured her face and nose a little bit with my ELF Bronzer

And for her lips, I used a mauve-ish brown lip pencil from Ever Bilena.
[ I don't know what shade. ]
And used NYX RLS in Hermes.

So, that's the final look. :)
I liked it and she did also. I am not really good in applying makeup on other people. Especially when it comes to eye makeup. But practice makes perfect, right?! :)

That's it! I hope you guys enjoyed this even if it's just a random short post. :)
I still have a few things to review. So, stay tuned for all those.
Happy Long Weekend!

Pillow Time : It's a girl thing.

Last week I have read somewhere the question...

Why do girls cut their hair whenever they are heartbroken?!?
[ Bakit nagpapagupit ang mga babae kapag heartbroken?! ]

And I can pretty much relate to it. LOL
And I thought about it, and I can't help but laugh at myself. I was once in that situation. I did it for a few reasons. I won't be sharing all of it. But I will share one. :)

But first I want to show you guys my hair BEFORE cutting it.

The photo was taken the day we broke up. It was Saturday, I believe.

And then Monday, I felt the need to cut it short.
I have never had a haircut for more than 3 years before this.
People thought I was crazy. LOL They knew though that I am going through something.

I think the reason is we just want to embrace the change.I myself did it to show the change I was going through. I want to embrace it and start anew.
Our hair is one of the MOST important part of our body, for me. It isn't just a body part, it is part of our lives.

I had that long hair for more than 3 years. In that 3 years a LOT of things happened. Happy and sad. And my hair was a witness. She [ my hair ] witnessed me on top, and also when I was rock bottom. So, when that big change happened. I was devastated. And I think letting go of some part of my hair is also letting go of the past. I felt better after that. :)
I never regret it. ♥

I know this is such a short post. But I just want to share this with you guys. :)
Have you guys experienced cutting your hair for a huge change?! Break up or anything?!
Comment below! Let me know!

Review : Fashion21 Color Set

AH! I am sick again. BOO! I have this very bad cold and sore throat since Monday. It got even worse that's why I wasn't on most of the time. Good thing I have some few products ready for review. :)

Today I will review a palette from a famous local brand here in the Philippines. Fashion 21. If ever you haven't heard about this brand yet, here is a little background.

"Fashion 21 Cosmetics is among the leading make-up brands in the Philippines since 1985. Known for its keen color selection, trendy packaging, imported high quality and affordable prices, Fashion 21 has become every fashionista's must-have. " --- Fashion 21 Facebook Page
The palette that I am talking about is the...
Fashion 21 Color Set

I had this palette for more than a year now. This is the very first eyeshadow palette that I owned. It comes with a thin velvety type of cover/ bag.
[ My second one is the 88 Earth Color Palette from Dollface. Review here. ]

At the back you can see the ingredients and other infos about the brand.

I don't know if you guys noticed, but the packaging looks weird to me. It isn't plain black or whatever. It looks like a burnt plastic thing. But whatevs, that doesn't bother me that much. I just find it weird. LOL At first I thought mine was damaged or whatever.

I like the packaging of this one that my Dollface palette. It is also made from plastic, I guess. But it feels heavier and sturdier, in my opinion.
The mirror inside is also bigger than the one from Dollface.

It consists 48 eye shadows. From bright colors to neutral ones. It contains a mix of shimmery shadows to matte.

Here are some swatches. Bright and neutral ones.

I really love this product. Especially the brown ones. I use those for every day makeup.
I got this for Php 375.00 at Watsons, Mall of Asia.

Now, for the PROS and CONS.

 PROS. ♥
-- It is very affordable! For 48 colors, it is a pretty good deal!
-- It has good pigmentation. Not all are super pigmented but I love the pigmentation. It isn't the BEST but it is good!
-- You can use it dry or wet. I love using it with a wet brush. It'll make the color pop more.
--  Good color pay off! Amazing!
-- Long lasting even without using a primer or base. 3-4 hours is pretty long for someone who have an oily lid.
-- No fall outs.I didn't experience any fall outs at all.
-- Consists of almost all the colors a beginner needs! Perfect for newbies!

CONS.
-- Contains TALC and PARABENS.
-- It is a LITTLE chalky. JUST a little.
-- Some aren't that pigmented.
[ But as I have said, most of the shadows are really pigmented. ]
-- HONESTLY, other than the talc and parabens. I can't think of anything else.

Will I repurchase?!
I don't think so. I still have tons of product on it. I haven't actually hit pan on any colors yet.

Will I recommend?!
YES! I think it is perfect for beginners like me. I really recommend it if you want to play safe and just start trying to apply eye makeup. I also recommend this to anyone. I think it is another hidden "GEM" that you can find inside Watsons.
You can find this at any Fashion21 counters.

Overall, I love the product. Especially the browns and neutral ones. AH! Perfect for every day and you can also use it on special occasions. It also contains colors if you want to experiment more. I think for the price, it is really amazing. :)

I hope you guys like that review. If ever you guys have any suggestions on products that I should try or you want me to try. Please don't hesitate to comment down below. If you guys have questions or anything. Feel free to ask me. ♥

Have you guys tried this palette already?! Or have you ever heard of it?!
What are your thoughts about it?! Please let me know.
